When Urban Wildlife Control is explaining to new customers the most common animal entry point into attics, the terms fascia board and construction gap are used often.

The fascia board is described as “a face board”. On most homes, the best way to locate a fascia board is to locate your gutter system. Your gutters typically attach to the fascia, which in turn attaches to the soffit.

Opossums, raccoons, rats and squirrels often find the fascia/roofline construction gap and chew and gnaw the fascia board and roof board to gain access to your attic. Greater Atlanta homes will often have water damage and wood rot due to water leakage from this animal behavior.
